UK’s first ‘tree tent’ launches in Wales

The UK’s first ‘tree tent’ was launched by Sheepskin, the original holiday properties company.

The Red Kite Tree Tent, situated near Builth Wells in Powys, Wales, is a tree house with a twist, fusing elements of conventional camping and log-cabin living to create a completely unique ‘glamping’ experience.

The Red Kite Tree Tent has had a taste of fame after featuring on Channel  4’s ‘Amazing Spaces’ and a copy of the tent will showcase at Grand Designs Continue to exist May 4th-12th in Excel London, where visitors can have the prospect to explore it in and out.

Set high amongst the trees within 80 acres of personal woodland, the tree tent was created  by UK design studio Luminair to have low-impact on, and to blend with, its natural environment.

The enormous 3m orb is suspended from the trees and constructed from a light-weight hybrid aluminium static airframe.

Designed to comfortably accommodate two adults, the tree tent encompasses a double bed, log burning stove and “en suite” facilities deck with sink, loo and out of doors shower.

There’s also a stream-side decked area that includes a hearth pit for alfresco dining. The tree tent is fully wool insulated to resist all climatic conditions for enjoyment all year round and electric power inside implies that you do not have to depart all modern luxuries and gadgets behind if you happen to not desire to.

Guests will receive a completely bespoke guide to the world it truly is tailored to their preferences in addition to a different welcome hamper.

There’s also the choice to mix a stay inside the Red Kite Tree Tent with a stay at another Sheepskin property, Red Kite Barn. Set in the same forest, both properties may be booked together to benefit from the better of both worlds – a singular tree house experience followed by more luxurious living in a country barn.

A stay within the Red Kite Tree Tent costs from £299 for 2 people staying three nights or £670 for per week long stay.
