First family holiday abroad
Booking your first family holiday abroad can be exciting but also a little bit stressful. When going with children you often need to think about thinks a lot more and will also have to pack a lot more! The first thing to do is make sure that everyone has a valid passport. Children can no longer travel on their mother’s passport, so all children even babies will need their own.
Once you have this in place you can start to look around for a holiday. If it is the first time you will have taken the children on a plane, then it is advisable to book somewhere that is relatively close to keep the flight time down. The difference in pressure can cause some children and babies to experience discomfort during the flight.
Make sure that you book accommodation that is family friendly and ideally one that has a children’s pool. This will usually be a lot shallower than the main pool and often provides shade too. Be sure to pack plenty of sun cream and keep your child covered during the hottest parts of the day. Often wearing an old t-shirt and a hat when in the pool will protect the majority of their skin.
